Crafted out of leather, the Nike Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage Shoes are dressed in a crisp white upper complemented by matching tone laces and a vintage Nike label on the tongue. Contrasting panels of suede are layered around the toe-box and lateral panels for a deconstructed aesthetic, matched by the leather swoosh which is a bright contrasting blue. Colours are reciprocated on the heel tab with an embossed Nike logo, while a sail midsole generates a vintage aesthetic and a tonal finish for the upper.
Despite their seemingly simple exterior, their sports orientated heritage gave way for key functional details. The raised collar and foam tongue creates key support around the ankle for all day wear, while responsive cushioning in the sockliner similarly generates responsive cushioning with each step. Finally the suede trims allow for a greater longevity even with thorough wear.
Having been chosen by Off-White and Sacai as the ecanvas for their most recent collaborations with Nike, the Blazer still continues to live up to its history as one of the greatest basketball sneakers to ever have existed. Originally a canvas model, they have been reworked countless times to suit everything from the streets of Paris to skateparks in LA.
